Your physiotherapy assessment: will include examination of posture, movements and specific muscle, joint, ligament and nerve tests.
Your physiotherapy treatment may include:
- Protection – using taping, splinting, education and advice
- Soft Tissues techniques – massage, electrotherapy, acupuncture
- Joint mobilization or manipulation
- Exercise prescription involving stretching and strengthening programs

Exercise Physiologist
Tim Boyd is an experienced exercise physiologist (EP) accredited with AESS, WorkCover NSW, Medicare & Veterans Affairs.
Exercise Rehabilitation: An EP has a detailed understanding about surgical and physiotherapy management of injuries and the role for exercise rehabilitation in cases as complex as spinal surgery and knee or shoulder reconstructions / replacements. Using our onsite gym & pool at Ballina and the Workers Club Gym in Lismore our EP will provide exercise and education to help injured workers, sports people and the elderly get active again.
Movement as Medicine: Exercise has an important role in managing chronic conditions like diabetes, obesity, arthritis and osteoporosis. Our EP will help you set goals, change behaviours and develop an exercise routine that will help you move well and stay well.

Kick your goals with expert instruction from a qualified personal trainer at our Lismore Gym in the Workers Club or our Ballina Gym adjoining our office at Riverside Apartments which overlook Fawcett Park and the river and has a heated pool as well as quality change & shower facilities.

Appointments
Appointments may be made by calling 6621 8606. If you have an acute injury or severe pain we will attempt to see you the same day. It is advisable to arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment and allow 30-40 minutes for treatment.
We set aside our time to provide you with individual care to ensure you get the benefit of our expertise. As such we have a strict cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or change an appointment we require notice the day before the appointment. The applicable fee will be charged for late cancellations.
Payment
Payment is required at the time of consultation.
We have EFTPOS facilities.
Patients with private insurance can claim their rebate using our HICAPS terminal. Our physiotherapists are listed as preferred providers with Bupa (previously known as MBF, HBA, Mutual Community).
Patients attending for treatment for a work related injury should have reported the injury to their employer and provide us with contact details for the employer as well as a claim number and current WorkCover certificate once available.
If you have a Medicare Care Plan you can claim your rebate via our EFTPOS terminal
There is no out of pocket cost for WorkCover or Veterans Affairs patients.
Fees
Standard Physiotherapy Consultation (30min) - $75 / Concession - $65
Short Consultation (less that 20min) - $50
Substantial rebates apply to patients with private health insurance.
There is no ‘out of pocket’ cost to patients attending under Work Cover or Veterans’ Affairs
